Learners

We welcome all learners who are seeking an education with a calm and caring environment into our centre.

With sessions running as one-2-one or very small groups, we can accommodate students with a variety of needs, and ensure each session is created just for them.

All our teachers are qualified and have been teaching for many years in a variety of settings, and have worked with children and young adults who struggle to fit in with the pressures of a rigorous and fast-paced school environment.

We are fully equipped to support learners who want to do things their own way and take control of the direction they want to go in.

We are fully equipped to support learners who want to do things their own way and take control of the direction they want to go in.

We don’t dictate what you should study, but work with you to harness your interests and help you with the things you may find challenging.  Our ultimate aim is that we encourage confidence and self-belief in every young person who comes to us.

Our current students come to us for between 1 and 12 hours a week, covering one to 5 subjects during that time, and follow a weekly timetable that fits with other commitments.

Our experience means that we can advise you on the route to suit your needs, whether that is learning just for fun, with the purpose of gaining new skills or aiming to gain a GCSE or A-Level.

Elective Home Learners

We strive to offer support to the home-educated families who have opted to undertake the important role of educating their children in their own way.

We can offer a range of short topic-led courses for you to dip in and out of in small groups, led by subject specialists and taught in a creative way.

These sessions are aimed to be sociable and engaging, taught through discussion and hands-on methods, and not aimed at specific age groups.

From rummaging through archaeological remains to designing skyscrapers as a structural engineer, our teachers have a vast amount of creative knowledge and are always excited to create new and inspiring courses.

If you have something you, or a group of you would like to learn about, just ask.  We are more than certain we can help you.

Qualifications

We offer a vast array of options for GCSE, Functional Skills and A-Level qualifications.  A number of our teachers also work as examiners and moderators for the biggest exam boards and so have insight into how to achieve good grades, if that is your aim.

As approved partners with Tutors and Exams, we are able to offer exam entry at a discounted rate, including those subjects that have a non-examined assessment (NEA) such as coursework or science related practical work.

Tutors and Exams enables you to sit your exams with any access requirements in place, and are based in London.

We are in the process of registering to accept EHCP funding and will hopefully be able to accept students with this funding in the new year.

Our philosophy is to fit in with what is right for your child.  You may decide that one session a week is right, or one session every fortnight would work better.  Where possible, we will work with you to find a way that best fits.  However, to get the best out of tutoring, we would recommend weekly attendance.

Of course. We offer a free initial consultation to visit to our centre, meet tutors and discuss your needs.

For most students, home-learning is an important part of studying, but this doesn’t work for all students and each tutor will discuss this with students to create a personalised homework plan.

Most GCSEs take two years to study in a full-time school setting.  For some subjects, such as English language, it is possible to shorten this to a year.  For other subjects, for example history, this is more tricky to do this owing to the content.

All students will be guided through the recommended learning hours upon starting with Learn with Confidence.

A-levels are generally studied across two school years and each subject is allotted 5-6 hours over two weeks.  This could be more if the subject is practical based, like science for example.

A-levels also include non-examined units (coursework) which will need to be completed too.  All students will be guided through the recommended learning hours upon starting with Learn with Confidence.

We can liaise directly with your school to collaborate with them and work out the best way we can support you.

Our teachers are fully experienced in picking up where you left off with your in-school studies, and we can follow school’s curriculum to ensure you don’t miss out on any areas of education whilst you gain confidence to return.

We have a number of students with us currently with SEN and SEMH requirements.  With largest class sizes of 3, our teachers are able to adapt sessions to ensure that the needs of all learners are met.  Please do contact us to discuss any specific requirements.

If you do not have links with a school, we use our preferred exam centre, Tutors and Exams.

Our teachers have hidden skills and subjects that they can teach, so as long as we can find a tutor then yes!  We aim to be flexible so if there is a group of you who would like to learn a specific topic, we can arrange that too.

We are also able to offer shorter courses for those who don’t want to commit to a full academic year.

We can offer your family an in-home session to begin with whilst your son/daughter builds up their confidence to join our centre.  Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.

All of our teachers have DBS certificates, and the centre follows all current health and safety guidance. We offer training and support to teachers to enable all students, regardless of needs or requirements, to make the learning experience for every student a positive one.
