Daytime Support at the Centre

We welcome all learners, from 11 to 25, who are seeking an education with a calm and caring environment into our centre.

With sessions running as one-2-one, we can accommodate students with a variety of needs, and ensure each session is created just for them.

All our teachers are qualified and have been teaching for many years in a variety of settings, and have worked with children and young adults who struggle to fit in with the pressures of a rigorous and fast-paced school environment.

We are fully equipped to support learners who want to do things their own way and take control of the direction they want to go in.

Learning Support

We don’t dictate what you should study, but work with you to harness your interests and help you with the things you may find challenging. Our ultimate aim is that we encourage confidence and self-belief in every young person who comes to us.

We offer opportunities to access the Granary, our animal assisted intervention, to support the wellbeing of young people with a holistic approach. Alongside this, we offer a fully qualified ELSA who works with our students to support them with their emotional literacy.

Our experience means that we can advise you on the route to suit your needs, whether that is learning just for fun, with the purpose of gaining new skills or aiming to gain a GCSE or A-Level.

Qualifications & Exams

We offer a vast array of options for GCSE, Functional Skills and A-Level qualifications. A number of our teachers also work as examiners and moderators for the biggest exam boards and so have insight into how to achieve good grades, if that is your aim.

As an approved exam centre we can offer qualifications with AQA and WJEC exam boards.

For daytime provision, Learn with Confidence is an official vendor with West Sussex County Council and we work with SENAT to provide the correct level of provision for each learner. Please get in touch to discuss how we can work with you in this way.

For our daytime provision, our philosophy is to fit in with what is right for your child and some may find it difficult to start with more than one sessions a week. We will aim to work with your child at the pace that is right for them.

mailto:exams@learnwithconfidence.co.ukOf course. We offer a free initial consultation to visit to our centre, meet tutors and discuss your needs.

For most students, home-learning is an important part of studying, but this doesn’t work for all students and each tutor will discuss this with students to create a personalised homework plan.

Most GCSEs take two years to study in a full-time school setting.  For some subjects, such as English language, it is possible to shorten this to a year.  For other subjects, for example history, this is more tricky to do this owing to the content.

All students will be guided through the recommended learning hours upon starting with Learn with Confidence.

A-levels are generally studied across two school years and each subject is allotted 5-6 hours over two weeks.  This could be more if the subject is practical based, like science for example.

A-levels also include non-examined units (coursework) which will need to be completed too.  All students will be guided through the recommended learning hours upon starting with Learn with Confidence.

We can liaise directly with your school to collaborate with them and work out the best way we can support you.

Our teachers are fully experienced in picking up where you left off with your in-school studies, and we can follow your school’s curriculum to ensure you don’t miss out on any areas of education whilst you gain confidence to return.

We have a number of students with us currently with SEN and SEMH requirements. Our teachers are able to adapt sessions to ensure that the needs of all learners are met. Please do contact us to discuss any specific requirements.

We can host exams in-centre for AQA or WJEC exam boards. Private candidates can be catered for, please get in touch with us at exams@learnwithconfidence.co.uk

Our teachers have hidden skills and subjects that they can teach, so as long as we can find a teacher, then yes!  We aim to be flexible so if there is a group of you who would like to learn a specific topic, we can arrange that too.

We are also able to offer shorter courses for those who don’t want to commit to a full academic year.

We can offer your family an in-home session to begin with whilst your son/daughter builds up their confidence to join our centre.  Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.

All of our teachers have DBS certificates, and the centre follows all current health and safety guidance. We offer training and support to teachers to enable all students, regardless of needs or requirements, to make the learning experience for every student a positive one.
